The Punjab Agriculture Department has started the repayment process for the fourth phase of the Chief Minister Punjab Kissan Card programme. Farmers who used funds on their card will receive a bill payment SMS on October 15, 2026, and the last date to clear the outstanding amount is October 26, 2026.

What farmers get for paying on time

According to the department, once a farmer pays the full outstanding bill, the next interest-free agricultural loan is credited back to the Kissan Card within 48 hours, so sowing for the coming season is not delayed.

Farmers who pay by the deadline will also be entered into a lucky draw. Prizes announced by the department include tractors, motorcycles and mobile phones.

How to pay the Kissan Card bill

  • At any Bank of Punjab (BOP) branch
  • Through a BOP ATM
  • Via interbank funds transfer
  • Using Raast ID

Farmers are advised to wait for the official SMS, check the amount, and pay only through these official channels.

What is the CM Punjab Kissan Card?

The Kissan Card is run by the Punjab Agriculture Department with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), and the card is issued by the Bank of Punjab. It gives small farmers an interest-free loan to buy agricultural inputs such as seed and fertiliser from authorised dealers.

Under the official scheme rules, a farmer can get up to Rs30,000 per acre, with a maximum of Rs150,000 per season. Each card is valid for six months, and the loan can only be used for farm inputs.

Who is eligible?

  • Farmers owning between 1 and 12.5 acres of land in Punjab
  • Land record must be available with the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA)
  • Valid CNIC, verified through NADRA
  • Mobile SIM registered in the farmer's own name

How to register for a new Kissan Card

New applicants can register by sending an SMS to 8070 in this format: PKC (space) CNIC number. After digital verification of land, CNIC and credit record, eligible farmers are issued the card by the Bank of Punjab.

Progress of the programme

In July 2026, the Punjab government said around 900,000 Kissan Cards had been issued, with a target of one million cards by August 31, 2026. Officials have also reported a high loan recovery rate under the scheme.
