دیکھنے کو یا محمدؐ یوں تو کیا دیکھا نہیں

ہاں مگر محبوب کوئی آپ سا دیکھا نہیں

اک سے اک بڑھ کر حسیں دیکھے مگر یا مصطفیٰؐ

تم سے بڑھ کر حسن والا دوسرا دیکھا نہیں

میں تو کر سکتا نہیں جنت کی باتیں شوق سے

وہ کرے جس نے دیار مصطفیٰ دیکھا نہیں

میم کا پردہ ہٹا کر وہ نگاہ شوق سے

مصطفیٰؐ کو دیکھ لے جس نے خدا

Roman Urdu

Dekhne ko Ya Muhammad ﷺ yun to kya dekha nahi

Haan magar mehboob koi aap sa dekha nahi

Ek se ek barh kar haseen dekhe magar Ya Mustafa ﷺ

Tum se barh kar husn wala doosra dekha nahi

Main to kar sakta nahi Jannat ki baatein shauq se

Woh kare jis ne diyaar-e-Mustafa dekha nahi

Meem ka parda hata kar woh nigah-e-shauq se

Mustafa ﷺ ko dekh le jis ne Khuda dekha nahi

English Translation

I have seen many things, O Muhammad ﷺ, but I have never seen anyone like you.

Yet, among all those I have seen, I have never seen a beloved like you.

I have seen people of great beauty, one more beautiful than another, O Mustafa ﷺ.

But I have never seen anyone whose beauty surpasses yours.

I cannot speak so passionately about Paradise.

Only the one who has never seen the blessed city of Mustafa ﷺ may speak of it in such a way.

When the veil is lifted, with a longing gaze,

Whoever sees Mustafa ﷺ has not seen anyone like him, while the verse expresses the profound spiritual devotion of the poet.
